What is aerospace ?

Aerospace will give anyone an open sky to search and explore. Aerospace engineering is a field of engineering that deals with the design, development, and manufacturing of aircraft and spacecraft. Aerospace engineering has come a long way since the Wright brothers’ first flight in 1903. In the past, aerospace engineering was mainly focused on the design of aircraft and their propulsion systems. However, today aerospace engineering encompasses a wide range of technologies, including satellite communication, space exploration, and aircraft design.

About aerospace industry!

Aerospace industry has grown significantly right from the beginning of the twentieth century. At the start of this industry human made gliders were first tried to be made and then become successful. Rotorcraft or helicopters were also its first invention. After the research and invention of aircraft from the Wright brothers, its size hugely increased during world wars because of the large demand of fighter aircrafts and missiles. Thereafter a huge modification and improvement in design and efficiency of both missiles and aircrafts took place leading to the development of large commercial airplanes increasing both its range and number of passengers. Now at present work is done on making electric airplanes which could reduce carbon emission as well as work is also done on making the use of green technology. Now in  modern days, drones are being developed both for personal as well as commercial use. These drones use modern technology as well as artificial intelligence.  There are swarm drones which can communicate with each other and make decisions in order to perform any task.

Career Prospective!

Career perspective in the aerospace industry is very bright. Anyone who wants to do aerospace  engineering should be able to take on large challenges. He/She should work on different aspects of design, integration and development of aircrafts, spacecrafts, rockets, missiles, satellites as well as drones and UAVs. The work and life prospects of any aerospace engineer is very good, similar to any other major.

There are many good universities which offer aerospace engineering both for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate fields. Some universities are like  Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Stanford University, and the University of California, Berkeley. Industries are also offering internships where any student can undergo training and can gain work experience as well as knowledge.

Work perspective !

Aerospace engineers work in different fields apart from aerospace engineering. In aerospace engineering they work on propulsion, aerodynamics, structures as well as flight control systems or flight dynamics. Many of the projects are challenging and require the development of new technology.

Thus this field highly contributes to the invention of new technology which highly impacts society and people. Invention of the refrigeration system is one of the outcomes of aerospace engineering. Beside this with the advancement of rockets space travel and space tourism can be a very important industry in the future.
