A plane wall 10 cm thick generates heat at the rate of 4×10^4 W/m³ when an electric current is passed through it. Determine: (a) the surface temperaure (b) the maximum temperatrure in the wall.

A plane wall 10 cm thick generates heat at the rate of 4×10^4 W/m³ when an electric current is passed through it. The convective heat trasnfer coefficient between each face of the wall and the ambient air is 50 W/m²K. Determine: (a) the surface temperaure (b) the maximum temperatrure in the wall.

Assume the ambient air temperature to be 20°C and the thermal condcutivity of the wall material to be 15 W/mK.
